Dog Bite Victim Bites Back
When Trena Wells, a woman of Illinois, visited her family members one weekend she was in for an experience that would change her life.
During her visit, the family members' dog escaped one day and was hit by a car. It returned to the home and, in rage, attacked Trena and bit some of her fingers off. Wells suffered puncture wounds, multiple fractures and underwent several surgeries on one thumb’s nail bed.
She ended up filing a personal injury law suit against the dog's owner. A jury recently awarded Trena $140K: $50K for past and future pain and suffering, $45K for past and future loss of normal life, $40K for past and future medical costs and $5K for disfigurement.
